How we are different PDF Print E-mail
Businesses or organizations are like living organisms, made up of the people. There are relationships, interrelationships, connections, interconnections, disconnections, history, culture, and many other aspects that all drive how the organization acts and re-acts.

This means that each organization is different, each is unique and each has different needs. It also means that its needs are changing and evolving over time and as people come and go.

Because of this, Text book answers are meaningless. It is not possible to prescribe canned solutions. When someone comes along and tries to force fit an organization into a rigid process this often has disastrous results. Tearing at the very fabric of what the organization is or hopes to become.

We believe that in our line of work the buyer/purchaser - vendor/supplier relationship has severe limitations in bring about sustainable, authentiq results. Our focus is on creating a deep understanding and relationship with the organization and all of its uniqueness.

We work in collaboration and partnership with the client to discover and create what will work best for them. It means that our success is completely intertwined with the client's success. This is not always an easy or fast path for either the client or us.

Our fundamental philosophy is that our relationship is more of an advisor or business coach than what you might expect from a typical consultant. We want to work with you to help you learn, we don't want you to be dependent on us. We strive to "teach you to fish instead of just giving you fish".

What it assures is that the outcome is an authentiq solution for the business, one that transforms the way in which they work and approach the future. It assures that whatever we jointly arrive at will get a much higher buy in from all the constituents and stake holders. It dramatically increases the likely hood of a successful execution. It makes us all proud of what we can accomplish.

One of the major signs of this different approach is in the way our fees work. We prefer to work on a "value basis". You might ask yourself - "What does that mean?" It means that it is difficult to fit into the typical RFP (Request for Proposal) type of process. Not only for us to respond, but also for you the client to fill out the specifications or statement of work. What is possible is to specify the outcomes.

This means that we and the client arrive at a fixed fee that is based reasonable value or return for the outcome, rather than the number of hours, days or weeks that we spend at the client's facility or claim to have spent working on the project. This keeps all of us focused on a superior result not just if the "meter is running".
